I'm there too. My careers advisor actually came up to me today and said "Rose, we need to sort your life out" (I only have 2 offers, neither of which i'm prepared to take, and LSE is the last university to get back to me) :frown: I need something just to pick me up and get my family and school off my back. They've made me start planning my gap year already!

Ignore them. My career advisor keeps saying no news is good news (although I'm now prepared to shoot the next person to say that to me.)
how long have you been waiting? its coming up to 5 months for me now...

Reply 328

I've been waiting since September 29th! I've been shortlisted though, so I'm not expecting anything before march really.

 really!!! i know for Law you NEED to go to a top uni what are your other choices? would you take a Gap year? to be fair, it doesnt automatically mean you will get a palce , but its better since you have AAA already!

Reply 330

lol i dont know whether i wish economics had an official shortlist or not...

Reply 331

If I don't get an offer from LSE then yes, unfortunately I will be taking a gap year - as I only have offers from Reading and Sussex and I'm not prepared to go to either. I don't really want to take a gap year, I'd much rather go to uni this year, but I won't have much choice!

I have 8A* and 2A at GCSE, and if I manage to get AAAA at A-Level, then hopefully I'll have a good chance next year. I'd be applying for two courses: Law+Anthropology and Social Anthropology; I wouldn't go for straight Law again.

Reply 332

yeah true, a straight A student shouldnt be going to a uni lower than top 5, did you go to a private school by any chance?

Reply 333

Yeah I'm at an independent school!

Guys, I feel your pain, honestly... I've been waiting since November 1st, and I've only had two responses so far - which means that four universities have yet to get back to me. I know that it takes more time when you apply as a mature student blah blah blah but, three months and 19 days, I mean come on! Plus, how exactly does it work anyway? Have they seen my application and are unsure about whether they want me or not? If that were the case shouldn't I have received an invitation to an interview at least? Grrrrrr... Everyday I think to myself: "Ok no Track for you today, you just need to be patient and wait for an e-mail notifying you of any change. Focus on your studies instead." And then the evil part of me ignores this sound advice and checks it 50,000 times nevertheless...
