in the binomial expansion the first part of the formula is

    n + nx + ...

    not

    1 + nx + ...

as u put, u are confusing this formula with another one which u use in p2

    ...i think
Who's the math genius? Me or you.

Its such a mammoth task creating notes on P3 that aren't too confusing. Is everybody still following?

It feels like its taking forever to finish the notes, oh well, at least its helping me, as I'm doing all this from memory and just some questions lying about.

Besides P3 is a monster compared to P1

If I may make a suggestion:

For integration by parts there is a way to remember where to give priority in selecting u. It goes:

    L ogarithms (e.g. lnx)
    I ndices (e.g. x^2)
    A lgebra (e.g. x)
    T rigonometry (e.g. sinx)
    E xponentials (e.g. e^x)

Given a product of two functions to integrate by parts, u is ideally the function higher up this priority order.

My teacher uses "latte" (sp!) to remember it.
