St Georges University

I was just wondering if anyone knew if you could compensate for Medicine at St Georges for not having 416 points at your GCSE's??
This is one of their minimum requirements, so no.

What if you got exceptional grades like A*A*A, would it still be a no?

As they have specified a minimum requirement for GCSEs, you have to achieve this as well as the minimum requirement for A-levels; they do not state that exceeding min requirements for A-level will compensate for GCSEs that do not meet min requirements.

Where one particular thing will 'compensate' for another applies to competitive requirements, not minimum ones, i.e. most applicants will exceed the minimum GCSE requirement, so for those that exceed it but on the lower end, then A*s at A-level will compensate, but nothing can compensate for not meeting minimum requirements.

Better to look for unis that have minimum requirements that you meet, have a look here http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/content.php?r=15897-medical-school-gcse-requirements

E: Also all this is jumping the gun a bit isn't it, judging by your previous posts you've just finished GCSEs. There's no point looking at med schools in this depth before you even have your AS results and UKCAT. Start to get a general idea at this point and investigate a bit, but better to focus on what you need to do now.
