what did they ask in the sevenoaks math hl paper

Reply 1743

I was told that if we are doing single maths (not further) we are expected to get only half the questions right and the further people are supposed to get nearly them all right?!?!
(We supposedly sit the same paper)

Heya~dunno if any of u goes there~

I am a girl so i guess I wont stand a better chance of getting in (?)

My current grades are 6 A*s(triple science, mandarin, RE, Maths), 3 As (Geography, music, english lit), 3Bs (history, French and English lang). I have also got Cambridge certificates in Latin. I am in year10 at the moment. I don't know what my predicted grades are yet ^^

Do I hav any posibility of getting into Westminster ?

I plan to do French, further Maths (I hav done GCSE maths already nd I am doing AS maths now - the GCSE exam is scheduled for the end of yr 10 (this year) and the AS one is scheduled for the end of yr 11), the three sciences, critical thinking for VIth form

Thnx everybody~

They didn't ask any differential calculus, but there were some really annoying word problems that got on my nerves

Meh. What's this accelerated maths? Is it synonymous to the express maths in my school?

In igcse they have extended (normal) math, and accelerated math which is like advanced math

I did the exam in CLSB today. Well Westminster is definitely going to be much harder, but time was an issue so I advise you lot to keep your eye on the clock.
By the way, is the fact that digital signals can only have 2 values a disadvantage ?

I would say it's an advantage, as if you amplify it, you can tell at the end what the original signals were, whereas with analogue, it's harder to tell, which is why you get that fuzzy picture on old TVs if the signal's not great.

Reply 1756

Well I got that wrong. I revised everything else except for Signals like them and it came up! Oh well.
