how were the exams? and which subjects?

I did maths and physics.

Maths: It was easy, but you had to go really fast. That was very frustrating because I lost 5 marks from the last question from rushing. :frown: Lots of quadratics and simultaneous equations came up. Trig came up, with pythagoras. Probability and indices too.

Physics: It was generally easy. Signals, Waves, Circuits, Hookes Law. Most of it was within C1 and C2 of the AQA exam board.

But I think my maths let me down. Really frustrating.

Not sure. I messed up the maths because I panicked and went mad. I'm quite silly really but I think I might because everyone else said they found it really hard. When I came out, I heard someone say Force*Mass= Acceleration so I think I have an alright chance. But I'm gutted that my maths exam went horribly wrong.

Oh I've seen that, I thought it was topics you needed to revise. How are you preparing?

You're not going to be asked that ridiculous question!!

You'll have a general interview, which is questions about academic interest, career, and school stuff. I was asked if there was anything I'd like to do outside my a-levels when at school, and I just answered honestly about the things I was doing in my other school, i.e. what sports I played and choir stuff.

And then you'll have an interview for each subject.
When I applied it was for Latin, English, History of Art and Religious Studies, so if you happen to be doing any of the above I could tell you some of what they asked me.

They want people who have a keen interest in their academic work, not just for the hell of getting As. If you don't care about your subjects, you won't be able to fake that.

Good luck

Im applying for latin! What was the paper like? was it very difficult! also what sort of questions did they ask in the interview?

Reply 1776

Yeah it just gives you the outline - that's all the help I could think of :s-smilie:

For Maths I'm gonna do some practice questions, for economics I'm just reading the paper and for latin I'm learning vocab and grammar and stuff, not really sure how to revise? what about you?

Just getting everything for GCSE known. I have to learn all the Chemistry and Physics as we haven't done it in school yet. I'll be done soon though.
