Agree with the poster above, Q Bar, Revs and Rewind are by FAR the best nights out. Sakura is a complete waste in my opinion, me and my flat/friends avoid it at all costs.

Hey, can anyone tell me about the current night life at Reading and also a bit about the campus as well? I'm thinking about Applying for 2014

Hi JDZG, Reading is a great place for night life! On campus the Student's Union houses two main venues: Mojo's bar and the nightclub 3Sixty, which has just been voted Student Union Venue of the Year! 3Sixty is also the largest capacity nightclub in Reading and has loads going on throughout term time. You can read more about the venues on campus here: http://www.rusu.co.uk/intheunion/venues_and_catering/#3sixty and also get a feel for what's going on there here: http://www.rusu.co.uk/ents/ There are also loads of pubs, clubs and bars in Reading town centre which is just 10 minutes on the bus from the campus. Lots of the clubs and bars can be found on Friar Street and Gun Street, and there's also restaurants/bars to be found all along the riverside by the Oracle shopping centre. The town's really buzzing at the moment with it being Freshers' week, so hopefully some current students can give you an insight into their nightlife experiences!
Skint Mondays, Propaganda on Thursdays (rock/indie/alternative) are both winners for me. There is plenty to do! the only issue i have is that you have to pay for tickets, for entry, to these places beforehand. This can be around £3-4.. I'm from Liverpool and not used to paying at all!! There are Drum and Bass nights if your into that, reggae/dub at the Global Cafe.. Lola Lo's is the local Hawaiian Club which is fun! Sakura is where you want to be for metal/dance.. The Purple Turtle is a fun one at the end of the night. University is what you make it... There is a wide variety for everyone.. you don't have to be a sheep and follow the crowd!

Saturdays are normally Union nights.

I don't think anyone from the uni goes to Q or the other clubs on a Saturday, but there's nothing wrong with Q club.

I'm assuming you aren't from the uni?
