student nights - ID

Do you require student ID for student nights... i have college ID (not uni!) - will this be no good?

I went to Cardiff SU last night with friends who are in uni (I'm not). They asked for NUS and I just flashed my card which expired in 2005 :tongue:

So yeah, I think college id should be ok.

Also if you're going with people who go to that uni (and you don't go to uni so don't have a card that says that) they can sign you in i think, it just means that they're responsible for you (i might be wrong though)

You can do this at the SU normally but not clubs that are having specific student nights. We've blagged none students in before but i wouldnt attempt to do it if it'll ruin your whole night if you're not let in!

Could always use another persons NUS card if they have one and they use their uni card just dont go in together. We've successfully done that a couple of times too!!

If you go to an NUS affiliated union or attend a student night at a night club then an NUS card should be enough, regardless of where it is from.

If it is in the Student Union you may need a uni card. You do at Keele, but that is because of the 'Keele card' system (you use your Keele card for pretty much everything)

If it is in a nightclub I shouldn't think it matters what ID you give, so long as you are old enough of course. 'Student nights' usually just mean cheap drinks rather than 'students only'. Although you may get a further discount with an NUS card in some places.

It depends where you go,Oceana in nottingham will only let you in on tuesdays if you have a Nottingham Trent ID and if its from a different uni they wont let you in, they also need your otehr ID as well (driving license, passport), it just depends

Warwick SU has some events just for NUS but others let the public in.

Yeah some clubs enforce NUS only on student nights (for example Leadmill in sheffield definetly does on a monday but tues/weds are a bit more lax)
