To Vavoom: these were my exact predicted grades (well I was predicted BB or BA) and I was rejected by cambridge nevertheless. They arent really interested in grades as such. But it was mean of your school to predict you 36....

I c i c. Thanks the info really helps. My parents were discussing whether i should reapply to oxbridge....but i don't think I will, too dangerous coz my IGCSEs were VERY crap.

And yes my school is MEAN. But they said they weren't predicted grades but the 'Mid-term assessment' and do not reflect what they think i'll get in the end...wtf....oh well it doesn't matter now. When I saw the 'predicted' grades I was upset and swore i'd prove the teachers wrong.

    And I did

I was predicted a 45, and it says 42 on the net. English and Chemistry exams went perfectly, so I have no idea why they are 6. On the other hand Economics could well have been 6. P from Finnish means that the result has not yet be given-- aarrggh.

But I had predicted A from ToK and I am known as the best ToK student in our class. Yet it says D!!!!!!!!!!! This is a ridiculous mistake from IB and it is a nuisance to have to start a complaint process. These small differences in grades can just make the difference in my Cambridge application.

My Cambridge offer is 42 with 7s in Maths and Physics + 1,1 in STEP1+2, but my STEPs did not go exactly as planned, so IB might have helped in ruining my future, so that I may just miss my Cambridge offer.

It's also very dangerous because if you get rejected again it will feel like you have just wasted a year waiting. Just say stuff oxbridge and go somewhere else - let it be their mistake for not accepting you.

    Bloody PENDING? Grrr...but it's 37 outta 38 up to now, and i have a good shot at a 44, if not a 43.

I WAS PREDICTED 36 BY MY CANADIAN SCHOOL. (42 by my previous school in France). Personally i wanted a 40, needed a 38 for Cambridge...hehe...

I was designing a simple optical device for measuring lipid and protein concentrations in milk; the error of the final measurement was just 4.4%, very surprising for me

Emmanuel, for plain maths. I reckon I should at least have gotten a STEP offer like most other people in here did. But Im not complaining, since then I found a better course for me. MORSE at warwick (it includes economics and other stuff as well)...

Did you apply to cambridge? Got an offer?

Darkside: What about you? Which college gave you the maths with physics offer? And out of curiosity, what was your maths extended title? Did you include complicated maths (i.e. maths beyond the HL syllabus)? I wrote mine rather simplistic (it was about game theory), it was more of an essay than a big maths calculation. I got a C despite being predicted A.
