I'm a L6 student and I've just got the photocopied scripts for my maths papers back.
I've checked my answers and methods using Arsey's solutions but I couldn't find any mistakes.
I got 3 marks deducted in q8 for both fp1 and fp2, and 1 mark deducted in q2 for m2. All my answers are exactly the same as Arsey's (except for q8 in fp2 I simplified it even further)
The scripts and solutions by Arsey are attached.
Can anyone pls help me spot the mistakes I've made

On the M2 question, your working would give y = - (2/9)a

The mark scheme says "reach given answer with no errors seen" so I 'm assuming that that's why you lost a mark.

On the FP1 question, you have an error in part i 3 lines from the bottom. In part iii the mark scheme says that there is M1 for working out (SR)^2, M1 for working out SPxSQ, which you didn't do, but your method is as good. Without having been involved, I don't know whether the principal examiner insisted on SPxSQ being worked out.

On the FP2 question, I put all of the 0 marks down to lack of care by the examiner. In part i you've got straight from dx/du dy/dx to dy/du which is perfectly correct but possibly misread by the examiner.

In the last part, I have to say that I first read your C in the final line as a bracket and thought that you'd just got rid of the A for some reason best known to yourself. In fact you have decided to let A = BlnC, which is OK but might have been more obvious to the examiner if you'd stated this.
