you are going to extremes

if you sleep at 5 normally, then the next night, sleep at 4, then the night after 3 --- keep doing that -- then your body gradually gets used the alteration --- i have experience in this field == although - i can survive on 5 hours of sleep

I'm like this as well; I doubt you're doing anything wrong, it's just that your body is so solidly set into the one pattern that it would take a very strict method of keeping to a new pattern in order to change things.
I've given up...I kinda like being nocturnal, but it does mean that on uni days I'm exhausted and struggle. Hm.

Obviously I cut down an hour or 2 it takes me about a week but what im saying is my new normal healthy pattern never lasts more than a few days and then im back at sleeping from 4am - 2 pm again!
ahh i see -- well you just have to commit really
....... i mean - whats preventing you?

Yes, it is probably that you need to determine WHY you are staying up and what you are doing. if you have friends you are talking to for example it may be them keeping you up, even if you tell yourself you could go to sleep whenever you wanted!

That's my exact sleeping pattern though I don't see anything wrong with it. It's just a different lifestyle so there's no reason why you have to go around changing it.
