I have a lot of exams in May/June 2016, any help with revision? I have 9 exams for Science (Core, Additional and Triple Science), 2 for RE, 4 for Maths (Maths and Further Maths), 1 for English Language, 2/3 for English Literature and an 8 hour Art exam along with coursework. Any tips with revision and balancing my time between subjects?

Hi LucyHannah,

Here are some revision tips:

1) For each subject, get a copy of the specification, so that you can tick off each topic as you learn it - this is especially useful for science and maths where there are lots of different concepts to learn.
2) Make revision notes as you are going along and update them regularly, in whatever format you like best, e.g. mind maps, flow charts, bullet points etc. I've just finished my A Levels and I personally like to type up notes for each subject in Word documents, so that I don't need to waste time flipping through lots of books and folders trying to find information when revising - instead I can go straight to the Word document the information is on.
3) A great way to revise is to have a go at past paper questions for each subject and compare your answers with the official mark schemes. This way you can identify any weak areas and check that you understand the material properly.
4) Leave yourself plenty of time to revise before exams and don't leave revision to the last minute - leaving it too late is surprisingly easy to do unfortunately and leads to lots of unnecessary stress.
5) Take regular breaks from revision so you don't get overwhelmed with information. Try not to make the breaks too long though so that you can keep your motivation going and stay in the right frame of mind to revise.
6) Try to organise your revision so that you don't revise similar subjects too close together, to avoid getting confused/overwhelmed with the content.
7) If you're able to stick to one, I'd recommend creating a revision timetable with the subjects and topics you need to revise. Allocate time to revise each topic and to have breaks, e.g. revise for 45 minutes with a 15 minute break, then repeat.

I hope these are helpful for you, and good luck

CGP revision guides allowed to revise most of my science within the space of a few days. Haven't got my results yet so I have no idea if it actually worked or not, but I felt like I knew everything at the time...
