Lol yeah they sell it here but it's like 35 degrees today :p:

Which is nice when you're well, but sucks when you've got a cold (ish) :frown:

vaporub is good as well, it clears up your chest an smells cool! what about eating loads of ice cream, people do it when they have sore throats and it will help with the 35degree heat(im so jealous about that!).

the problem with my advice is i seem to rely on what tastes or smells good as a cure....lol
Drink plenty of water and take some echinacea tablets (they are fantastic in shortening the length of a cold)

Haha, for a second i thought you said echidna tablets.

Oh well, it was a tiring day at school!

Anyways, i'd suggest Soothers/Strepcils/Anticole...they don't really have an effect on my brother anymore since he treats them as lollies.

I would previously have recommended echinacea too but New Scientist recently published a study which showed it has absolutely no more effect on the immune system or the body's ability to fight colds than a placebo! I was most dismayed, have always taken it. DB although most people get far too much in their diets anyway you could try some vitamin c tablets, preferably with zinc, for a bit of a boost to your immune system. If you're overtired then there is little that will cure you other than a few good night's sleep because getting too little will always compromise your immune system and your ability to cope with illness when it does occur - boring but true! Take some paracetamol and ibuprofen today for the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties and perhaps suck on some antibacterial lozenges so that if it's a bacterial infection it doesn't get any further than your throat - you don't wanna lose your voice! I had two bouts of laryngitis last year. Very amusing for my friends but not for me. Other than that just try to get a few early nights

-lots of fruit & veg, avoid dairy
-hot tea with lemon (no milk)
-make yourself go to bed earlier!
if you do get a full on cold the best thing you can do is get plenty of fluids, sleep a lot and lots of vit c, take paracetamol if it's painful, antibacterial throat lozenges, and a cough suppressant if you're dry coughing at night - so you can get the sleep you need to recover
i've heard cough linctuses do work but not tried myself
If your not vegetaranian try chicken soup--really hot. It works wonders- seriously its magic. Also turn the heating on and get loads of sleep.

Hope you get better

I blame it on too many late nights :p: I know I'm in the wrong

Anyway atm have a really sore throat, what do you reckon are things one could do to totally rid themselves of this feeling??

Cheery  x x

I blame it on too many late nights too. The amount of times I thought I was coming down with a nasty cold and it's all been cleared up after a good nights sleep.

When I have a sore throat I normally drink a lot of water, take painkillers and suck on some sore throat sweets. You could also try gargling with salt water. A lady in a shop told me to try this once and it actually did some good.

An excellent suggestion. Even better would be to use hydrogen peroxide diluted to the appropriate concentration but be careful not to swallow any.
aww, poor danni_bella, she can't help working long hours bless her.

i agree with what everyone else has said really. though hugs often help people get better so have a hug :hugs:

Overload yourself with multivitamins, orange juice and water. You'll feel perfect in a few days.
wesetters
:afraid:

I wouldn't try that, myself...

Why not? It worked wonders for me. Kills off everything, bacteria, viruses, the lot. Better still is to chuck some antibacterial mouthwash into the mix. That makes it taste nicer as well.
