Its because nurses are in higher demand, nursing is just as skilled and as well paid if not better than OT/physio. As for more fun well it depends on what the individual likes every career can be fun to someone.
yes I think initially you get paid more as an OT/Physio but a few years down the line as a nurse you can probably earn around the same amount.
I think the jobs are very different and with physio/OT there is more autonomy than nursing which is appealing to a lot of people. I think a lot of people are trying to get into physio because they like the sport side of it (which is VERY well paid at higher levels) rather than neuro or respiratory...but everyone has preferences and OT/physio may appeal to more people than nursing.
I also suppose nursing also has some stigmas attached to it (like dealing with vomitting, tolieting issues) which people may not be that keen on dealing with! Not that you are immune from that if you are a physio though!
yeah OT and physio are definately more competitive mainly because there arent as many places that do these, only about 13 unis do OT (not sure about physio) whereas nursing is done at a lot of unis as there are a lot more places and need more.
pay wise OTs and physios definately get more money then nurses when they first qualify but it then depends how high up you go!
fun wise i wouldnt like nursing (only a personal opinion) becasue i cant stand the sight of blood, couldnt give injections etc so i wouldnt find doing them fun! whereas ot/physio although you may still see these your not having to actually deal with them! thats what i think anyway lol!!
Nuses, physio's and OT's all get the same pay now, they didn't used to but there as been an Agenda change thing.
