Are these good books / authors for personal statement?

I'm looking to apply to Oxford, LSE, UCL, Warwick and Durham, and I have read a fair amount of economic literature but I want to explicitly mention:

'How Markets Fail' - John Cassidy

Paul Krugman's general work and blogs

'Thinking Strategically' - Avinash Dixit

Are some of these books overused / not preferred however?
