ukcat tests ur logically abilities but probably more importantly its important to work quickly under the time constraints.

I honestly believe that UKcat depends on the day ur having! As its a test u cant really revise for, i think that u just gotta be in the right frame of mind, make sure your not 2 tired, and dont panic!

your BMAT score is based on what every1 else got...and if your going 2 do dentistry theres no point loooking at BMAT because firstly no unis require it 4 dentistry and it has no relation at all to the ukCAT!

I dont think you can really say how hard it is. The test itself is difficult because more than one answer can seem right and the time contraints are very strict. Just make sure you have done the practice questions before hand and then go in nice and calm to do your best.

It all depends to be honest. There was some sections which I just ripped apart and then others which I loathed!

The centre I went to, in glasgow, were not accomadating at all, so before you sit the test make sure everything is the way you want it so you are comfortable. I have a "slouched" left writing hand, basically when i write my hand drags across the paper, so the pen ' n vinly sheet was terrible for me and before I started I told them If i could just have paper but they were very dismissive of it.

You can't really prepare for it and I generally don't believe that it is actually a good test to distinguish between candidates for entry. I have also been told that the test may be dropped due to the problems it has had though it's notbeen confirmed.

I honestly dont think UKCAT was particularly important in the applications process, I honestly dont think theyll use it as a basis to accept/reject a candidate, so dont worry. Its pretty hard to aim for a score on UKCAT..n halfway through the exam you wont care what youre gettin, you'll just wna get the hell out the exam room - it is without doubt the most BORING exam ever. and it costs too much. stupid exam.

i agree tht its an absolute waste of money.... i think they were looking to make more money from the test than anything else.......the amount of time given for the pattern recognition is ridiculous. i cud only manage to do few of them when i realised there was only a min left and had to start clicking random ans....absolute **** take
