I've been recieving these stupid texts from the number 69009 or sumthing similar and every time they txt me they take £1 off my credit. Now I was pi*sed off when they sent one but to send them until my credit has gone is ridiculous. They send them to me straight when I top-up and I am left with no credit in my phone. What's more I don't know how to stop it! If I put money in my phone it will just get eaten away and also it will cost me to text them to stop it most probably.
Furthermore I don't understand why they are doing it, its not as if I've bought any ringtones o anything of that sort. It's really annoying me. Anyone had similar experiences or does anyone know how to stop them?!?! Surely it's against the law to do this??

Contact your operating company and get them to block any unknown numbers

Ring up your phone company and ask them. They can tell you who to ask... there is a government organisation that regulates them (im guessing oftel???) and there might be advice on their website (http://www.oftel.gov.uk )

block all unsolicited calls and texts - just sign up to the telephone preference service.

It dosn't always work though as its only voluntery that companies sign up to it, my parents still get about 10-20 unsolicitied calls a day even though they are registered with it.

Any company that persists is actually breaking the law
It is a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS.
http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/what/
- if you can get hold of their details (and you usually can because they're trying to sell you something) then you can report them to ofcom - or better the office of dta protection: http://www.informationcommissioner.g...ual.aspx?id=95

If people have caused problems through premium rate services (like in this case) then http://www.icstis.org.uk/icstis2002/default.asp are the people who authorise premium rate services and can revoke peoples numbers if they're abusing them.

We have no idea who it is, my parents only answer genuine calls, i.e not withheld/n/a or international. If it was genuine they can leave a message on our answering machine. My mum just has a policy of dealing with banks and stuff via writing. Its annoying though because the phone never stops.

If you picked up the calls and asked for the company details you could simply fill in this form: http://ico-cms.amaze.co.uk/DocumentU...0Telesales.pdf and get them fined.
