First thing I want to say, is I could have done a lot better. I had 3 months before GCSE's as study leave due to illness, and did not revise at all prior to the exams. In addition, I only begun Triple Science after Christmas.

    I received one Distinction*, 2 A's (possible 3 after a remark of English), 6 B's, and 2 C's.

Would it be possible to make up for it in A-levels?

I am literally interested in everything, so any course would be an option. However, I'm leaning towards Biomedical science (i.e. medical research).

If I put in my 100% and got good references, relevant experience, and 4 A*'s at A-level would I stand a fighting chance of getting in?
Oxford, I'm not sure. Cambridge, yes.

Your best bet is to get very high As at AS (90%+ UMS average at a minimum for a decent shot with those GCSEs); submit an ECF (extenuating circumstance form) for Cambridge explaining why your GCSE results were lower than expected; get your teachers to mention your extenuating circumstances on your reference; get predicted all A*s.

    Best of luck.
