Does anyone have any tips on appropriate school clothes?
I know it varies from school to school, but can anyone give me some examples of the types of clothes you wear on placements or on the average day at school?

I don't imagine primary schools would be too formal, but I know some can be really casual too!

It does vary. I've been to a school where everything's really casual (even the headteacher wears jeans and teachers are addressed by first names), but also others with 'smart casual' dress code, i.e. no jeans or trainers. I plan to wear a 'safe' attire on my first day (i.e. trousers, flat shoes, plain t-shirt or blouse) then copy what others wear afterwards. An ex-headteacher did advise me to get many pairs of trousers for primary schools, and I managed to get some machine washable, iron-free ones from M&S.
