is it weird i'm bothered by this

So my best friend is lovely, love him to bits and everything. The only thing I hate is how I never get to spend a weekend with him, he's always out with other mates.

I've never met these other mates and if I'm honest I don't think I ever want to meet them, they sound a bit like scum to me, I know that's a horrible thing to say, but that's how he describes them.

Anyway he is my only friend who is 18 and ever so often I just feel like going out, I don't want to wait til August until my friends all turn 18.

I dont really have any friends my age at work, they're all about 40, and not into going out and stuff.

anyway, basically my problem is if i wanna go out he always says no im busy with my other friends or he says he doesnt have any money, then i get a text from him later the evening i wanted to go out and he's pissed as a fart.

Anyway sometimes I get really upset by this, is it weird?

No of course not, hes making excuses as to why he cant meet up with you and then going out with your mates.

One thing i would point out though is to not judge people before you know them, not alone met them! You cant meet someone with the view that you'll never get on with them because you'll set off on a bad footing from the start.

Next time your mate says hes busy with his mates ask if you can come out with them too. You might have a wicked time and meet some new mates.

Well at least give his other mates a chance, and that way you get to go out with him too. Just see how it goes.

Im going to guess she (the OP sorry if i got sex wrong), means like clubbing or pub and such?

And in response i am a relatively inactive person not going out much, and i am invited to the pub by some of my friends. I do however feel that my friends go out without me a lot, some anyway. Its a shame yeah but i just take what i can get. Or failing that plan something ahead of time to get your mate to go with you over them for once? surely one saturday missing his other mates wont kill him!

haha sine they lived in london and can't do anything without a driving license/passport showing you're 18.

I go out quite a bit to the cinema, bowling whatever with my 17 yr old frinds but I'd just like to go clubbing or something.

I know I shouldn't judge them or anything, but I've read his messages (we do that lol) they're disgusting and he's specified he doesn't want to mix his work friends & college friends, which although I find weird and annoying, I understand.
