I have a question regarding ESRC funding with a 2.i. I have some pretty extenuating circumstances in my 2nd year (hospitalized three times, once for 9 days), and so I got a 64 overall, with some papers a first.

Is there anywhere on the ESRC application form to declare this?

If you're in languages, you should be eligible t the AHRC, not the ESRC. :dontknow:

Only your final marks really count, but I haven't found the AHRC to be particularly kind with anybody who hasn't been awarded a first. It looks like the committee don't bother reading applications from other students.
