As it stands it'll be nothing.

The BBC want a BBC1+1 but that's being blocked. So for now there'll be a BBC1, 2, and 4... which doesn't make a lot of sense.

Good riddance. The only comedians on it are ridiculously left wing (russell howard, etc..), but obviously this fits the BBC's agenda.

Right that was one name... Is the ever-so-posh Jack Whitehall ridiculously left wing?

As for the drama, documentaries, the festival coverage, the news, the debate?

The news, debate and drama that could quite easily be shown on BBC 1 or 2? Now we're down to the sole reason of festival coverage.

It will be an online-only channel so unfortunately it will still exist, albeit in a different format.

It won't be television. Just short video clips and GIFs a bit like Buzzfeed. Only the occasional 30 minute video.

BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4 could make sense. We could have a BBC8 and then maybe a BBC16 in the future

Given that they're shoving BBC Three into the online space, I'd argue they rebrand it and rename BBC 4 as BBC 3. The number denotes its importance and BBC 3 was always the lesser channel anyway. A BBC 1+ would be cool but iPlayer fills that gap

A lesser channel in what sense?

Bigger audiences on BBC3 than BBC4.

Who cares? Get rid of it, I say.

Russell Howard's Good News has had more seasons than The Sopranos.
