if we was writing an answer for example, the Business exam 2moro, do we require to use the whole word "and" because i have got a habit of writing "+" as my shorthand for and. Will this not be appropraiate and can i not gain marks bacause of this?

If they ask you to write in continuous prose and/or you are given marks for quality of written communication, always write "and". Otherwise they can't mark you down for using shorthand (although I still wouldn't recommend it).

Use proper English. Avoid dingbats, abbreviations, contractions. This applies whenever one writes. Only when writing notes can one relax.

However I would say if time is tight. And you are getting to the end, you could slip into Short Hand to get everything down.
