I'm hoping to apply to Oxford this year for 2016 entry for Computer Science and I need to take the MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test) but I am really struggling, should I still apply? How can I practice for it?

My AS level results are AABB with the As in Computer Science and Maths, the Bs in Physics and English Literature. The B in Physics may be moved up to an A because I'm redoing my ISA but yeah, what do you think?

First, what's your definition of struggling? You should expect to find the MAT much harder than you're used to. We have lots of excellent candidates, and we need to distinguish between them. Typically, about 50% is enough to get short-listed; and you'll get better with more practice.

Make sure you're completely on top of the published syllabus (although this is less relevant for questions 5-7).

Then do lots of past papers. Don't worry too much about speed for the moment: concentrate on developing your technique, and speed will come with practice. If you get stuck on a problem, come back to it the next day. If you're still stuck, look at the published answers. Is your school able to give you any support? There's a thread on TSR devoted to the MAT, so you can try posting specific questions there.
