Do teachers ever genuinely miss their ex- pupils? watch

I had a teacher who wrote a note to me on the back of my final essay I handed in to him saying how I'd been the most entertaining member of the class and that he would miss me and sincerely hoped I got to achieve all of my ambitions.

I assumed he'd written a similar note to everyone else, but when I asked everyone it turned out he hadn't, it was only me.

I was just wondering if teachers ever genuinely do miss their students?

Well if you left an impression and was a 'friend' to them...

Of course- they're human too, and we spend a lot of time around them. I'm still in contact with one of my teachers- we're good friends.
