Well, I had lower back pain years ago.. And like you describe, it was agonising. I was getting my friends to stand on my back! I was walking like a cripple and couldn't sit or stand for long periods :frown:

Anyway. Couln't figure it out for ages until I was changed to a low-dose contraceptive pill, back pain totally went and I'm still stumped as to how that worked..? Never had it since either.

Are you taking the pill?

If you think it's muscular/spasm, take ibuprofen/nurofen. As well as being a pain killer, it's an anti-inflammatory and will actually reduce any swelling. I have lower back problems and my physio makes me take it regularly before and after an appointment as it actually has a cumulative effect in reducing the inflammation.

And you need to see a physio, not a doctor. Unless you have any other symptoms at all (fever, loss of appetite)? If you do, it could be the sign of a kidney infection which needs treating as soon as possible.

Hope you feel better soon! I know how horrid back pain is! :frown:

I had something like this and I could barely walk, except bent over like an ape. Eventually I plucked up the courage to stand upright and in the long run that helped, but I still had to be really careful about how I walked. It just miraculously went away after a few days, I didn't take anything for it. You might just have to wait unfortunately :frown:

I had that a couple days ago, absolutely killed, but I had been lifting heavy stuff at work..

Turned out it was a stretched muscle as its almost gone now

Wait a few days and see if its still as bad, and if so, then go to the doctor

I periodically get it.

Ibuprofen and back exercises help.
