My English class are studying 'Jane Eyre' and 'Othello' side by side this year for 'Love Through the Ages' with AQA and we have to select a third text that compliments both.

I feel as though 'Jane Eyre' and 'Othello' are so different that it will be near impossible to find the perfect third text.

Does anybody have any ideas? The theme is love, of course.

i am also doing othello but we are picking 2, personally i really like the book rebecca, i dont know if it will fit in with what you want to write but the love in it is interesting, hhere is a link to some info,
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/rebecca/summary.html

its set early 20th century i think which is a different time and context from the others which might help

my teacher gave us a long list of books we could use so i can post it if you want it

hope this helps

I have considered Rebecca as an accompanying text, will definitely think a bit more about using it!

Have you chosen yet?

i have yet again changed my mind on the theme and am now considering 'evil always triumphs' and whether this is true or not. i would do othello, rebecca and tess of the d'urbevilles. i just hope my teacher thinks it is feasible!
