Waking up not knowing which day it is?!

a few times i woke up and for a few mins i had no idea whatsoever which day of the week it is, and whether i should be going to class or if its a weekend etc.

its quite strange and annoying. i usually remember after a few mins coz i have by books prepared the night before so then i know that i have a class and then i start remembering whats going on

i dont have any health conditions/problems and this doesnt happen to me a lot but i just found it disturbing the few times it happened

has it happened to anyone before?
does it have a name or something?

thanks

No dont' worry! It's really common. I often wake up with no concept of what day it is. Many a time I've gotten up and gotten ready for school on a Saturday.

I've done that a couple of times, but my party trick is falling asleep in the afternoon, waking up whilst it's still daylight and thinking it's the next morning!!

I've uber confused myself on many a jolly occasion with that gem.

I work weird shifts in my job, its ridiculous how many times i do this. I make coffee and so many times i have to remind myself what im supposed to be making by looking at what im holding in my hand  I keep forgetting we're in 2007 now as well.. 'tis most confusing.

In the summer I'd been drinking all afternoon so went for a little nap at about 4 I woke up the next morning at about 6, but thought it still the same day, 6 i the evening, there aren't any 24 hour clocks in my room or my house for that matter, for hours I was so confused (and worried about where all my housemates had disappeared to. Only when I turned on the tv and bbc breakfast was on did I realise.... Completely freaked me out.

Now I have a 24 hour clock next to my bed, just in case.

I can never trust my clock in the morning. For some reason I think I have changed it a few hours fowards or backwards during the night. In fact I have to check my clock, watch and phone before I'm convinced...

God i know what you mean. My alarm goes off, i look at the time and think "Nah its not 7, my clocks wrong" then wonder how many more hours of sleep i have got...lol

Before you go to bed, bluetack a piece of paper to the wall or something nearby saying (for example) 'IT'S MONDAY, GET OUT OF BED.'

I wouldn't worry. That happens to me a lot. In fact most of the time I can't remember what day it is.

I have a simular problem - several mornings i've woken up at 3am and looked at the clock and read it as 6am, went into the bathroom, showered and got ready for school and when my mum came in asking me what the hell i was doing i would answer very confidently that it was time to leave for school and think she was weird for not believing me lol. But maybe i'm just odd....:s-smilie:
