You may well have an ear infection, in which case you will need to take antibiotics. In the first instance, I suggest that you call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47 and describe the symptoms; they will be able to advise an appropriate course of action.

My dad had same, then next day he cant even stand up cos hes so dizzy from the infection. Get em checked if its an infection.

On another note my mum had bad pain in her left ear for a month, then loss of hearing for another 2. Eventually it became a partial deafness (theres story in the middle but i save time :P). So get it checked out, ears are sensitive and very suseptive to problems and important!

I had an ear infection a few years ago and I couldn't hear properly for a few months. My ears have never really been better since. Constant crackling and popping and poor hearing.

If you think you've got an ear infection it's probably best to go as soon as possible. I went as soon as possible and took all the medication I got given and my ears are still bad, god knows what they'd be like if I hadn't.
