Haha, well PEE was always one that worked for me!
Ermm.... Regarding revision.... Yeah, I would agree that English is a difficult one to revise for.
The biggest thing I did was past papers to be honest. Because I felt like that helped develop my ability to be able to write essays and respond to the question asked.
Another thing I did was go over terminology a lot ... you know, all the different types of alliteration/personification/metaphor/simile/anthropomorphism/ all the different types of nouns/verbs etc and noun/verb/adjective phrases etc. We were given a huge list of this stuff and we had to know what each one was and be able identify them in the texts.
I also then took books at random from my bookshelf at home and read a short passage and tried to apply as much of the terminology as I could and then use that in the essays - just to practice. And then also did this with the actual texts on the exam too. We were always encouraged to use as many terms in the essays as possible AND also be able to explain what each one added to the text and why it was important.
I think the best thing for revision for English is to just try analyse poems or newspapers or book passages as much as you can. It's all the same process. That's really what helped me the most when I did A Level.... and still does as I'm currently doing an English Lit degree at uni haha
