Bath or Cardiff? (Opinions wanted)

I am currently stuck between having Bath or Cardiff as my firm choice. Although I live in London, I wouldn't mind living outside, so that doesn't matter. Also the offers from both unis are the same, and they are both excellent academically. Just want some opinions (city, lifestyle, campus, etc) from people going/went to these unis and doing/done Pharmacy as a degree. (And yes I have been to both unis and I still can't decide!)

Hmmm well it's a tough one as like you said they're both great academically.

Do you not have a tiny preference for one over the other? You need to go where you think you'll be happiest and have the best time.

I'm completely biased because I've pretty much loved my last 3 and a half years at Cardiff. Plus I've never been to Bath. But I think Cardiff may have a little more on the going out side and it's cheap.

I don't go to Cardiff, but I'd say it is much more of a student city - ie its fairly cheap in comparison to Bath which is expensive! Cardiff is a good place for going in too, can't comment on nights out in Bath because I have never been on one.

Bath- Campus is on a hill (even though youd get used to the uphill walk, it wuld still be tiring)
-even though sports facilities are good, apparantly they are always being hoged by professional players. The same for loughborough.
-Apart from the sports, the other bulidings looked really shody
-after the ist year, you may want ur own place. Ihear its very pricey at Bath.
-When i asked, they seemed too intent on pharmacy being just a vocational course. Alright for 90%, but for those who wanna do research and industry.... so i wasnt too encouraged.
-Few clubs. Bath isnt exactly bustling.

Cardiff-Campus
close to all amenities
-even though the exterior of the pharmacy school was alright, i didnt like the interior ( a minor note)
-Russell group:cool:
-halls of residence are closer to the campus.
- ratio of female to male is 70:30. Im think baths is lower, but im not sure.

Id go for Cardiff.

note im not going to cardiff even though i applied and got an offer. Also i dont actually live in Cardiff, ( i dont want to say where i really live)

I probably end up going to Bath, just because it's nearer to London! Anyone got anymore opinions?

Reply 6

I'd pick Cardiff just because it seems to have more going on, is cheaper and generally more studenty...

cardiff due to fianacial gain

Thanks for the advice people! After all that, I probably put Bath as my first choice, just for the fact that is it nearer to London, and due to the fact it is quite a small university, in terms of students (I don't mind living in a small city).

Baths a really grea place to do Pharmacy. Cardiff also seems great (form what little ive seen of it!) The only thing with Bath is that after your first year you will have to travel to get to uni...but its not that big a hardship. If you like small cities then it is perfect! I certainly love it here!
