University Transfer (Poly --> Russell Group?)

I am studying at a poly uni as I did 2 a levels and 2 as levels and got BDac. I just finished first year and I am quite unhappy with my uni so I was wondering if it is possible to change for second year/join middle of second year to another poly or maybe even a Russell Group? I was thinking transferring to either Northumbria or Newcastle if I could. Is there any chance I could? Any advice? Thanks
