It depends on your age... if your over 18 it might be worth checking, but some girls take ages to settle into a pattern. I used to have irregular periods, and yes they were much heavier if it was a longer time in between.

There are things which can cause irregular periods. These tend to have other symptoms too... but if your worried maybe it's best to see a doctor. (You could ask to see a female one if you're embarrased) It's always best not to have these things on your mind.

ive always had irregular periods and have jus started my period after almost 4 months.(my last period was late october) but is it normal for the period to come back slightly heavier has anyone else had this?
do you think it would ba a good idea to still get checked out by a doc even though i hav finally gotten period. jus so that i can find out what is causing the irregular periods.

I've always had irregular periods too, and sometimes when there has been a bit of a gap it does come back heavier.
With regards getting checked out by a doctor, it depends. If you're over 18 and have been having periods for quite a few years, it might be worth checking it out. They can take several years to settle though. Also, what do you weigh? If you're on the light side that can cause long gaps between periods.

I agree with the above post. Its best to see a doctor and make sure everything is ok. Sometimes rapid weight loss can cause irregualr periods too.
