Anybody seen it yet? Got it here so gonna stick it on now, really looking forward to this. Big fan of them and the 80s/90s west coast thing. Hope it's good

Finished it. This was definitely worth the wait. Eazy & Cube both excellent, there was nothing in it I didn't already know but it covers pretty much everything and the story is constantly moving so it doesn't feel like it's dragging on.

Most of the classics are in here. I purposely avoided reading anything about this film as you're just ruining it for yourself doing that, so wasn't expecting it to go so far into the story with Death Row/Aftermath.

Seriously go and watch this film.

I know nothing about rap or the history of NWA, but it looks really interesting. Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch it before its theatrical run ends.

Great film, as you said nothing I didn't know already just like the Notorious movie but still a great watch. Still waiting on that 2Pac biopic, i imagine it's going to be very contradictory to the events of Notorious

I guarantee you that no one leaves Luton without at least a single stab wound.

The probability that this statement is false seems very low, so I agree with you. hahaha

Can't wait to see it.

Not particularly a rap fan, mostly into rock, but I remember buying Straight Outta Compton when I was 14 and being blown away by it. West Coast G-Funk is an amazing genre, and what NWA did with it was great. Wondering how deep the film goes into the feuds that happened when NWA disbanded?

I actually think they toned him down.

The film holds up on it's own even if you know nothing about Hip-Hop.

It's not true. It doesn't hold up for several reasons. There are loads of rumours. Another is they got a HIV+ woman to sleep with him, which is unlikely as well.

What actually happened was that his promiscuous lifestyle caught up with him. It's possible he was HIV+ before the Straight Outta Compton album even dropped.

Could have went more into Dre/Eazy but that's about it.

A sequel is coming, w/ Tha Dogg Pound.

I knew nothing about the NWA before seeing this but I thought it was great. Enjoyable even if you have no interest in the subject matter.

Glad you enjoyed it.

What did you think of the music in the film? The NWA/Dre tracks?
