Hardly ever. I'm amazing, and I know it . Lol, on a serious note, I actually really hardly ever feel it. It only tends to be when I wake up the morning after a good night out and think 'Oh god...I said/did WHAT?!'

I experience it too much.......or if disgust is too stronger term, self evaluation followed by slight attempt at adaptation and dissaproval of self, sometimes in relations to traits my parents have I don't want

Reply 5

yeh i suppose it is not really disgust, it is like you have a thought in your mind to do something like set yourself a task for anything, and you end up wasting your time and not doing it (as an example). it can be good to be critical of yourself, just not too much!

I do experience a bit of self-disgust quite often, i just get disgusted at myself sometimes - ive made a lot of mistakes in the past.
So OP, why do you feel self-disgust sometimes?

Reply 7

Usually after a drunken encounter with some guy i would not normally go for...not mingers-but usually younger guys.

Oh that interests me, 'cos it pertains to something that happened with me and a girl--how much younger would make you feel disgusted?

They are all legal! lol...i'm in year 13 and at school functions where i've had a bit to drink, i always find myself with year 12 boys..not that much younger but still it's not like they are even that mature!

I usually get it before my period, when my hormones are all over the place and I find it much easier to find faults in myself which results in self-disgust.

Reply 12

yr 12 boys, LOL! It reminds me of the girls in my year (13) always flirting with the yr 12 boys! It is a bit weird cos it is usually older boys messing around with younger girls. But i suppose its the same both ways.

Reply 13

^ tis not my fault that yr 12 are generally better looking than yr 13 lol...it's probz cuz i'm tired of the guys in my year especially since i'm friends with all the "hot" ones so those are no go areas anyways.

Reply 14

Often happens to me after drunken encounters with much older guys. Who are always scumbags, surprisingly enough!

Lol ok!

How often do you experience it ever, and do you know why? Do you think it's universal?

I feel it quite a bit because I suffer from depression and Post Traumatic Stress. It comes out in the form of guilt. However my sister, does not feel like that and is often quite the opposite.

yeh people get all sorts of different symptoms, the best way to deal with it is to confide in people who close to you, and try and be open. Councilling can help too.

Reply 18

I don't think its possible to be disgusted in myself.

arrogance.
