Parents don't want me to do A levels-HELP.Watch
They feel that i would be better of doing the BTEC in health and social care at my local college because it would be easier, there will be less hassle and i could still progress into uni if i wanted to( that is not my interest as of now) or get a part time job, maybe in a care home ore something . Also the BTEC course provides some kind of work experience and A levels hardly provide that, that is why they prefer me to do the BTEC in health and social care, after all, employers want people with experience.
I am an aspiring children's nurse and don't really know how to go an about that, as in whether to do A levels in sociology, philosophy and ethics and the health and social BTEC(my A level subjects) at a not so good sixthfrom i got accepted to or go college and just do the BTEC.
I was thinking of a nursing apprenticeship.
I just feel lost and fact that i got declined from my secondary's school sixtform does not help the situation at all, i mean if i got declined from somewhere with an excellent reputation with both Ofsted and parents etc, this must mean something, maybe i am not good enough to do the above A levels.
I don't want to do A levels and fail them( they are hard and time consuming)as i am a person who loses focus and gets demotivated easily, but at the same time, i want to prove my parents and teachers wrong.
Any advice/help will be appreciated.
tldr: aspiring children's nurse who got declined from her secondarys school sixthfrom and is questioning whether to take A levels in sociology, philosophy and ethics and the health and social care BTEC in a not so good sixthfrom or just go college and do the BTEC alone which provides some sort of work experience. Parents not wanting me to do the A levels and fail.
