I am aware that not many people are aware of General Paper, but hear me out. Under CIE, there is a paper named General Paper which our sixth form college forced us to take. It is apparently an AS-Level subject.

The question is, is it just the CIE version of the useless and utterly easy General Studies which is talked about a lot in TSR? If not, what is the difference?

And also, many universities do not look at General Studies as a subject. Will they consider General Paper?

I want to take medicine and many universities require me to take 4 AS Levels. I am taking Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and General Paper. Will they look at General Paper as part of an offer? I know they don't accept General Studies, but is GP different?

Thanks a bunch!!

This is what Cambridge says about its General paper https://www.cambridgeinternational.o...vel-only-8021/ which suggests it is quite like general Studies (which no longer exists as a subject n the UK).

However, UK universities will not expect you to have done 4 subjects at AS so the value of the General Paper is irrelevant.
