Bad dreams

Does anyone have really frightening dreams that affect them long after they're over?

I quite often have a dream where i'll wake up crying/shouting/hitting out. Some of them are flashback scenarios which aren't directly related to an occasion, more a person. Others are just random fears. It's quite distressing and not very nice for me or my poor boyfriend. Funnily enough they mostly seem to happen when he is around (don't worry he's not dodgy!) I think it may be more to do with the fact that i subconciously know he will be there to comfort me.

I don't need any advice regarding these dreams as i am in the process of "getting help" for things related to some of them, its more just a rant!

So...i can't be the only one right?

I'm sure anyone that knows me already thinks i'm weird. If they read it on here and choose to share it with people because it's not anon then it just shows that they don't have much to do with their time!
Harsh...

I can relate to it because my sister is schizophrenic and see's the world end in a thousand horrible ways every single night.

I had a dream about vampires last night, seriously. It really scared me! I woke up and had to actually lie there for about 5 minutes working out what was real and what was dream, it was that vivid. And then I thought 'I'm 20, for ****s sake, and I do NOT believe in vampires, get a grip!'

Maybe it's sleep terror.

I get recurring dreams a lot of this monster thing called Coffin Baby from the film Toolbox Murders chasing me around and killing me. It's weird because the film isn't even scary. Actually I do get quite a lot of dreams with death, and they do affect me for a few hours. Last night I was pretty scared! I fell back to sleep 3 times and the dreams came straight back.

I've yelled out in my sleep about 5 times apparently.

Lol sorry that made me laugh....

Mine are more related to real things that have happened/could happened so i can't rationalise them as easily :frown:

Lol, no prob, made me laugh when I realised how stupid it was...at least my bf wasn't here last night, I've had dreams on occasions when I've screamed, or lashed out and hit him, and I suspect it was one of those.

Yeah, sorry, mine tend to verge on the ridiculous. I think I have quite an overactive imagination, although sometimes they seem so real.

I have bad dreams too, and sum of my nightmares re-occur during the night.
When, I wake up from it i cant go back to sleep in fear of going back into the nightmare..

why are you anonymous?

I have bad dreams all the time, and yeah do think about them and remember them vividly when they're over. It's weird how you can see thingsl ike it when you sleep! My advice is try not to worry - they're just dreams. Thats what i think anyway.
