I'm not sure as I don't have it done myself but with any other piercings i've always gone back and had it checked before making any changes. It might be worth going back to the place you got it done and asking them for information on it and get them to check that everything with the piercing itself is alright. Bit of a hassle really I know but it's worth doing if you are unsure. I had to do it with several of mine, best decision I ever made. Though my piercing looked fine, it wasn't...

Did they say anything to you at the time?

They told me that I should leave it in for about two weeks...
But I don't know whether it needs longer.

I think it's really up to you then, if it looks alright and isn't painful then changing it might not be a problem. If you are unsure then leave it for another week or so and see how you feel then or if it's possible, ask them to have a look at it just to make sure. If they said two weeks and you have had it a bit longer, then it should be fine. Just keep taking care of it.

I personally found that my tragus healed really quickly, much quicker than other piercings such as my rook. If there is no sign of infection I think you're fairly safe to change it. Make sure you put a really good quality ring!

They tell you the answer before you leave the shop but your asking anyway :s: you crazy foo

personally I didn't feel that mine was ready to change for a couple months, cartlidge piercings can take a while to heal. Sleeping on it won't help either.
That said if you feel you are ready to change it and it's alright then do...only you know your body.

If it aint still crusty it should be ok

Trigger - they told her two weeks, that's way too little time, so it's a good job she's asking, really. :P

Personally, I'd leave it at least 3 months before changing it myself. Cartilage piercings can be very bitchy. I don't think I changed mine for about 5 or 6 months.

You'd probably be okay getting the piercer to change it for you, so you know that the jewellery is sterilised. It's not going to be healed after a month, so you definitely don't want unsterile jewellery in it.

3 months min.
I changed my conch at just under 3 months, but that was because the stud was too long for it and it didnt like it.
Dont do it yourself tho. Ask a piercer.
