Hi guys,
I applied for a HNC Applied Science course, Biology major because I was planning on doing optometry. The university actually said there had been successful applicants from that college that had done the HNC Applied Science. What the uni didnt specify was that they had studied physics modules.
I had actually emailed the college BEFORE THE TERM STARTED, specifically asking if the biology HNC had physics in it. No response. Now I find out that there is NO physics, and therefore the HNC Biology is utterly useless for optometry.
There is a HNC Chemistry course (which does feature physics modules at a different campus).
my head of dept said the chem class is now full, but let him know what the uni says about the physics.
What can I do to bring up the physics? Do I need to drop out and re-enroll next year?

Is there any chance that you could drop out and enroll into a different college? Some colleges near where I live are still enrolling people even though the courses have already started. If not, then maybe start pestering your head of dept and reminding him that this course depends on your future. Failing that, you may have to just have to drop out and re-enroll next year. Are you old enough to have a gap year? Maybe not a travelling the world gap year, but more a chilled out gap year. Let me know how things go, I hope you manage to do the physics somewhere
