Stupid, stupid spyware (I think) watch

Whenever I go on a site in Internet Explorer, certain words are turned into hyperlinks. I've had this problem since last night. I tried clicking them and they go to adsrve.com/something, before redirecting to loan sites, dating sites, etc. I've tried Ad-aware and it hasn't helped (with latest updates). I've also tried going to adsrve.com to see if they have any uninstalling software but it won't let me access the server. My last port of call has been to download HiJack this. I don't understand it so I've put my log up on some computer help site, which has a sub-forum specifically for this purpose, but no one's paying much attention. So, does anyone here understand the logs or have any other ideas for getting rid of the problem?

I had a problem where everytime I opened IE6, my homepage was replaced with a search site. Wipe your hard drive and start again. That's what I did. But make sure you back everything up!
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
