About 125 - 150 pages excluding appendices.
Is that double-spaced? Doesn't sound as bad as I thought (my undergrad dissertation was 40 pages), although I appreciate that the quality would be considerably higher.
I know they vary quite a bit, as I have seen one which was wafer-thin and another that was A4 and about twice the thickness of the bible! lol.

I think I'm using 1.5 spacing (still allowed apparently), true double spacing seems to make the text too hard to read to me.
Thesis size is very subject dependant. My area produces small theses because results are few but highly signficant (i.e. you spend half you PhD trying to get one spectra, but that involves building a new piece of kit or developing a new analysis method), other areas produce a lot of results but only together are they significant so you end up with a door stop.

Is it just me, or has everyone got more gems than they had yesterday? I looked at mine and thought 'Hmm, The Boosh must have something to do with this'... because of your comment earlier. But looking around, it seems everyone has loads of rep at the moment, even those who didn't previously. Maybe I'm going mad.

Does anyone else have phd tutorials in a pub? Every time I meet my supervisor I end up pissed. It's great, but I confess it is also a bit confusing after a few.

HI guys, as we are f the more mature minded level. What the heck is going on at TSR HQ, i tried to read the stuff on other places, but it just seems like bickering about a forum being changed. I thought us oldies are the dogmatic types.
Can someone (looking at ChemistBoy here as the voice of experience), put whats happened in to simple english and what this means to GOGSOC. im fed up trawling thru this and that.
Im not usually lazy but, i have other things to do.
Am i going to have to go back to the forum on findaphd.com for light hearted Postgrad related chat and chuck norrisisms.

you & i, like many of the postgrads on this forum, are "procrastinators" - we procrastinate in our studies (hence why we spend so much time arguing with younger folk), and we procrastinate in our working life (hence why we are postgrads).
i quite like getting little green gems now and then, but interestingly im not that bothered about the red ones.

Go to the poll on the About TSR forum called 'will you be re-subbing?' or something. On that thread someone has posted a link which, if you click it, takes you to your User CP and you can see who dished out what to you.
The rep function has gone haywire now, because of an argument amongst the admin team and pig. All these maxed-out reps are making my eyes hurt.
I'm too much of a newbie myself to really understand what's going on, but it seems that pig, the guy who was keeping everything together and gave TSR so many good features, has scarpered and taken his plug-ins with him. So now we have a shoddy rep system and various other ailments. But never mind.
