so i know that according to the terms of residency you technically aren't allowed people to stay, but just wondering if this is properly enforced or is just on a not taking the mick basis? I'm from newcastle and my boyfriend wants to come down to visit-- since its such a long journey would want to stay over. would this be a problem?

cheers guys

It should be absolutely fine. People in my flat had friends stay quite regularly, one even had 3 of his friends sleep on his floor for the night!

There will only be a problem if he causes problems around the residence or if he stays for a prolonged period of time.

Yeah, exactly as said above - There's no strict policy. It's just to avoid some people having permanent guests (It does happen...).

He would be able to stay over the weekend lets say or a night in the week. As long as it's not every day - you'll be fine!

yeah it's just to stop people saying for weeks my mate had his girl friend stay over a couple of nights in first year and it was no problem in my second year one girl's boy friend almost lived in the house and that was problem but the odds guest is fine as long as he doesn't live in your room then it's fine.
