Stomach Cramps...Bloating...But no blood...(eww question)

Hey this may sound really odd and icky so sorry, feel free to stop reading...

Still reading? Okay

For the past few days, 5-7 maybe, I've had really bad stomach cramps, period pain feelings and bloated stomach and the other icky side effects that you get when you have or are about to have your period but I havn't actually got my period or have had it for months (posted before on that topic)...just wondering if many girls get these pain so much in advance its usually just a day or twos warning for me and my mates...so yeah erm *in pain*...btw I don't usually complain about period pains I just deal, its just particularly bad at the moment :frown:

Are you sexually active? (And don't say, "well not right now")

I normally get a warning about a week in advance and it works up from there.

LOL hehe...No I'm a virgin

Ok...it might just be worth going to see your GP in case it's endometriosis? It's probably not, probably just your cycle settling down so you're getting early pains, but I would think it's better to be safe than sorry.

What's endometriosis?

Reply 7

Have you got the wiki link for it? Because I have some similar stuff to you from your post and am worried.

I think my doctor would just laugh at me though *embarrased*

Don't panic Captain Mainwaring. It's not exactly likely, just a possibility.

Endometriosis is condition where the lining of the womb (the endometrium) grows outside the womb as well as inside causing "adhesions", which is basically the "sticking together" of other tissues in the abdomen. It can be painful and it can reduce fertility.

Are you on the pill, I know your not sexually active but people use it to also regularise periods. It might make them lighter but it will become regular.

I don't really know much about the pill...so taking it would give me regular periods?
Are there any erm side effects?

Reply 13

Have just read about it all and saw some other links too. I think I may have endometriosis and hypermenorrhea!:eek3: Fun, fun.:frown:

You should go to your GP and talk to him about this first. And you should also get it free on perscription.

There are a lot of different makes of the pill, it a contrecaptive and thats what people know it for really, but it makes your period regular. You take the pill for 3 weeks and then a week off (which is where your period will be) and then you do it again after that week and so on.

As for the side effects, I'm not too sure about all the side effects but I know certain pills effect diff people in diff ways, I changed my pill from Microgyon 30 to Yasmin after having a bit of a low sexdrive and now I'm fine. But some pills might make you put on a bit of weight (so I've heard). I have a mate who started taking the pill to regularise her periods but she thought she was getting fat on it so she stoped, it worked though and she wasn't getting fat, she was just bloated from her period. Silly. But it is a lot of effort to remember to take it at the same time every day.

You should talk to your GP and ask their advice. Every medication has side effects but depending what works for your body.

I guess I will.
I'd prefer not to have to take a tablet though, I have real problems swallwing them and can only manage 'sealegs' ones which are reli small by chewing them which is yuck and my painkillers have to be liquid...

Man I sound really odd from all this but I'm not and thanks for everyones responses

I wouldn't panic if i were you. If you haven't had your period for some time [talking 2 months] it could be because your lifestyle has changed eg not enough exercise, not enough fruits + vegies, --- even things like living in a new country can affect your menstrual cycle --- so just try to get back into your regular lifestyle ---- and usually exercising a bit more will make you get your period on time
But, if its been quite some time like 5 months say, i would contact your gyno.

I get stomach cramps sometimes before my periods.
Like sharp stabbing pains all over you tummy chest area etc.

About a month before i actually started my periods i got really bad ones, the doctor came out and almost ended up at hospital for appendicitis. hehe (this was christmas eve btw :frown: )

How long have you been on you periods for?

Because i actually dont get them any more they stopped after the first year or so.

I think i was slightly bloated.

Maybe you need to toilet? << bloating, cramps
