It depends on what type of BTEC it is and what grade he gets

    For example:

    BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma(60 credits), Grade D* = 140 UCAS points

BTEC Level 3 Certificate(30 credits), Grade Merit = 40 UCAS points

For my BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma i got D*D*D* which is 420 UCAS points and the equivalent of 3 A* grade A levels

If you find out what type of BTEC it is or how many credits it is i will be able to tell you what grades are worth what in terms of UCAS points and A level equivalency
