If you are applying for Uni in the next few months, this is something you really DO need to be aware of and think carefully about.

Increasingly Universities are relying on private providers for Halls accommodation. Whilst this might provide some really good standard student accommodation, with ensuites, gyms, wifi, and city centre locations etc, it comes at a price.

This can come as an enormous shock to those who haven't done their homework, and next August realise they can't actually afford to go to that Uni.

If you pick somewhere expensive to live like London or another major city, it can cost you up to £300 a WEEK in student accommodation - and that doesn't include food. In comparison, somewhere like Derby, Ipswich, Cardiff, Dundee etc can cost half that. That is an enormous difference over a year - thousands of pounds worth of difference.

Check the student housing websites BEFORE you make your 5 choices and make sure you are clued up on this.

Examples of sites that show this difference clearly........
