I'm just curious as to whether a practising Muslim would consider dating someone who is not of the same religion or avoid it, be it for family reasons, personal preference etc.

Even when I was a believer many years ago, I would have totes gone out with anyone I pleased, regardless of religion.

Nope. I would've in the past, but I just feel the difference in religion could be troublesome in the long term.

Exactly, I think once your older you feel that difference more than you would in school for example. It's just easier dating another Muslim that's all, less drama

Wouldn't 'date' irregardless of being a Muslim or non-Muslim because haraam (forbidden).

Wouldn't marry a non-Muslim because mukhrooh (disliked) and compatability issues as well issues with children.
