Sorry if this doesn't make complete sense but I am having a bit of a panic attack at the moment. I am currently in my third year of studying English as an undergraduate, and am doing said third year abroad in Hong Kong. I had several acceptance letters from SFE and even received my first payments back in August, but I have just seen online correspondence from today stating 'Zero entitlement to core finance due to ELQ (not an exception course)'. And my payments have completely changed. Full disclosure: I started a foundation degree in 2008 but withdrew halfway through as my father died and I was not in the right frame of mind to continue. I sent in proof and a doctor's letter to SFE to get that year exempted from my record. In 2012/3 I did a part time OU course, and then using those credits got accepted into my university now. I decided to do a study abroad year but was worried I might not be eligible, but after several assurances from SFE, and getting accepted by both my UK and HK universities, I got in. I have had several letters of notification telling me how much I will receive (due to me using the travel grant facility).
I am currently sat in my room in Hong Kong panicking as I don't know what the hell's going on here. Can they withdraw money from you just like that? This is still a part of my degree, my university said so, nothing has changed. On my SFE portal it says (and has since March) '
