So I'm not talking about Oxbridge, but any of the other prestigous Red Bricks.

I'm doing BTEC IT (software development) LEVEL 3 (comparable to 3/3.5) A-Levels in terms of UCAS points, alongside A-Level Physics.

I'd like to know if Uni's would consider me or frown upon the BTEC side of things.

Thanks.

95% of UK universities accept BTECs, you wont have a problem getting into a Computer Science course at uni

i did an extended diploma in IT too and im a second year Computer Science student at Royal Holloway

You dont need to take an extra A level either, there is no need, however, if you replace Physics with Maths and get an A* + Triple Distinction in your BTEC you could actually apply at Oxford :P

also the Extended is worth 3 A levels (not 3.5)

The best unis you can get into are as follows:

Oxford (DDD + A* in Maths)
Durham (DDD + A in Maths)
UCL (DDD - for IT Management)
Bath (D*D*D*)
Cardiff (D*D*D*)
KCL (DDD)
Surrey (DDD)
QMUL (D*DD)
Royal Holloway (DDD)
Southampton (DDM + A in Maths)
Lancaster (DDD)
Bristol (D*DD and either A in Maths or take a maths test at the university)
York (DDM + B in Maths)
Sussex (DDM)
UEA (DDM)
Nottingham (DDD)
Liverpool (D*DD)

Hope this helps
