    No. As someone who is considering donating organs as well as being a regular blood donor and being on the bone marrow register...no. Let people choose.

    People have personal autonomy even in the afterlife, that's why we have wills etc. You can't just force this on people, it has to be a personal choice.

    I'm sorry, but you don't own other people's bodies. You might not think there's any rational reason not to donate your organs and I'd probably be inclined to agree but that doesn't supersede over people's rights to choose with such an incredibly personal matter. I'd agree with an opt-out system though (i.e. you're in by default).

    they only want healthy organs so that put a good 40% out of the running and certain religions are against it

    and even if the government were to overrule this
    what about any surplus as only around 35% of organs are useable for transplants
