    Lo,

If you have an old version of the provisional license which came with a paper license, can you still take your theory test with it as long as you bring the paper counterpart?

Yes. Take the paper counterpart and another form of ID, ideally your passport with you.

No, that won't suffice I am afraid. You either need to update your paper licence to a photocard licence or get a passport. Here: https://www.gov.uk/driving-theory-te...ur-theory-test (It says this in the document section of the link)

    Thanks
You're welcome. Reschedule your test for a latter date, so that you can start processing your photocard licence - as application for a passport would take longer. At least with this option, you would only need to take your photocard licence with you to the test (a passport won't be needed).

If I don't attend the test is it a criminal offense?

Are you talking about the old version consisting of a photocard and a paper counterpart or a very old 'no photocard and a paper licence' only?

    photocard and paper counterpart
So you need nothing else. For your theory test you just need the photocard. The counterpart became redundant in June and the only requirement now is for the photocard...

Hope that resolves it for you

    ......
Here is what you need to do the theory test. It is called a photocard license. You only need this to do your test. An example of a photocard license is on this link:
